MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network Opens Outpatient Site in McLean

Site offers rehabilitation, orthopaedic and neurology services.

MedStar NRH Rehabilitation Network has opened a new outpatient site in McLean. 

The site, which began operations Feb. 3, offers comprehensive rehabilitation, including orthopaedic and neurology services. It also features specialty care delivered in partnership with orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons and radiologists from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

This site is the newest addition to MedStar NRH’s network of outpatient locations providing rehabilitation services closer to people’s home and work. It is one of 30 sites in a network that serves the greater Washington and Maryland regions, including Northern Virginia.

Other specialties at the site include sports medicine, focusing on early intervention after injury for amateur and professional athletes, as well as the development of training regimens to promote safe performance and prevent re-injury.

Additionally, the site features a runner’s clinic with gait analysis to diagnose any difficulties runners may be experiencing; the AlterG®, a high-tech, anti-gravity treadmill for those recovering from knee surgeries or who require rehabilitation from a running injury or pulled muscle; and concussion services for adults and children age 14 and older.

“We believe this new site is a great addition to the MedStar NRH Network and will help us serve an ever-growing patient population in Northern Virginia,” said John Rockwood, MedStar NRH president and senior vice president, MedStar Health, in a news release. “This combined practice with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital offers patients a robust clinic with various options to suit their needs.”
