Lafayette Federal Credit Union is opening its first branch in Northern Virginia in McLean next to Cafe Oggi.
"To better serve our members in Northern Virginia, we’ve been looking for a new branch location for a few years and McLean proved to be a great community and a central business hub with vast opportunity for us to serve new members as well as small businesses," Christina Madaras, a marketing specialist for the credit union, told Patch in an email.
"We truly believe in the credit union philosophy of 'people helping people' and with our new branch in McLean, we will be able to provide exceptional customer service with the plethora of financial services that we offer."
The branch, at 6701 Lowell Ave., will hold its soft launch on Saturday, Jan. 18.
Residents are invited to the official grand opening and ribbon cutting on Feb. 22, which will feature door prizes, giveaways and light refreshments.
The Kensington, Md.-based Lafayette Federal Credit Union was founded in 1935. It has three locations in Washington and two in Maryland.
