Saturday in McLean: Girl Scout Cookie Sales

Sales open until March 31

An engaging trio of Girls Scout cookie salesgirls met Saturday grocery shoppers at the Anderson Road Safeway.

Mehran Sahhad, 11, Dahbia Osborne-Bensaada, 10, and Saima Syeda, 10 were doing a brisk business, under the watchful eyes of their moms.

One of their best customers was Dave Stevenson who handed them a $20 bill and said how much can I get. The cookies are $4 a box.

In honor of its 100th anniversary this year, the Girl Scouts have introduced a new cookie to its annual offerings: "Savannah Smiles." The cookie, described as zesty and lemony, takes its name from the birthplace of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low.

You have until March 31 to decide between the Thin Mints, Tagalongs and your six other choices.
