Dale Strawser Announces Thousands Raised at Fairfax Dance Event for Child Battling Cancer

Dale and Anita Strawser (www.forsalebydale.com) announced today they raised $3,200 at their fourth annual MidAtlantic Dance Classic fundraising event last month. The funds raised were donated to a family whose daughter has been battling cancer.

Local business owners, Dale Strawser and Anita Huffman- Strawser have hosted the Mid- Atlantic Dance Classic for four years and have raised much needed funds for various causes.  This year, they chose a local family who has incurred over one million dollars in medical expenses since their daughter, Daisy became ill with cancer.

Daisy is only 13 years old and is being treated by the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, a network of hospitals that Dale Strawser’s RE/MAX Premier’s office has donated and fundraised for, raising a half of a million dollars thus far.  With every home sale, Dale donates part of his commission to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Washington D.C. and then sends a donation in both the seller’s name, as well as the buyer’s name.  “Daisy’s family has an unbelievable amount of unreimbursed medical expenses and they wonder each day how they will keep going with Daisy’s treatments. Her heart has become enlarged due to the chemotherapy and the treatments, pumps, intensive doctor visits and hospital stays continue to rack up costs,” said Dale Strawser.

In addition, Dale’s MidAtlantic Dance Classic office recently began selling wristbands that say, “I dance for Daisy.”  This is an ongoing fundraising opportunity and anyone in the community can purchase a wristband from the MidAtlantic Office with all proceeds going to Daisy’s family.

On June 21st, Dale and Anita will participate in The Longest Day, a charity to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. They will teach group classes at Colvin Run Community Hall in Great Falls, Virginia along with other top instructors in the area.  “This charity hits close to home, as Anita’s parents have Alzheimer’s disease,” said Dale.  “So far this local event has raised over $10,000 and the momentum is building.  There are many groups across the country raising money on the same day. At this time we are in third place in the United States, which is fantastic, but we can’t stop there. Our goal is to raise enough money to be number one.”  Visit www.colvinrun.org for more information on the dance classes being offered June 21st.
