Haig Home in McLean Sells Fast

The house was once home to President Ronald Reagan's Secretary of State Alexander Haig.

The McLean house that once belonged to President Ronald Reagan's Secretary of State Alexander Haig in McLean has sold for a price of $5,175,000

The Haigs paid $7 million for the home in 2006. The asking price was $5,495,000. According to the Wall Street Journal, the buyer is the president of an international communications/IT corporation relocating to Virginia from California.

Listed by TRR Sotheby's, the home at 626 Chain Bridge Road is "valued for its bright and airy atmosphere, generous room sizes and understated elegance, this residence offers extraordinary comfort and benefits," according to the listing.

The home has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms plus three half-bathrooms and eight fireplaces. The home has a three-car garage and an in-law suite above it.

Haig died in 2010, and his estate is handling the sale of the home.
