McLean Ear: Police Disperse Langley, McLean Students; High Honor for McLean Resident

We Hear to Tell

No Girls Fight. Fairfax County police were called to the McDonald's restaurant in downtown after Friday's Langley-McLean basketball game to disperse about a hundred students who had gathered there.

Rumors are rampant among students that there was a fight between two girls. Fairfax County police said there were no fights while they were there and none were reported to police after they arrived.

The Langley Saxons won 58-32. This cross town rivalry engenders high feelings on both sides.

At a McLean-Langley basketball game last year Langley students vandalised the McLean gym and insulted the step team. Since then administrators and school leaders at both schools have worked to tone down the rivalry.

Thefts at Langley?  Neighbors tell us there's a poster-sized sticker on the wall next to the entrance of the Langley gym. It says they have been having a rash of thefts and lists a bunch of precautionary measures -- keep lockers locked, keep gym bags in sight, report suspicious activity, etc..
