Virginia Elections 2013: Snyder Joins Cuccinelli Camp as Fundraising Chief

Pete Snyder, one of six unsuccessful candidates for Virginia’s Republican lieutenant governor nomination, has joined Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s campaign for governor.

Snyder, an entrepreneur and founder of Arlington social media marketing company New Media Strategies (NMS), will co-chair the campaign’s finance committee.

Snyder will help lead fundraising efforts in Virginia and around the country for Cuccinelli’s campaign – a vital role in a race against Democrat Terry McAuliffe that is sure to get national attention and, perhaps more importantly, national dollars.

“There is only one candidate in the race for governor with a clear plan and the right experience to strengthen and grow Virginia’s economy and that is Ken Cuccinelli,” said Snyder, current CEO of Disruptor Capital in Virginia. “The single most important thing Virginians can do to ensure that we grow our economy and remain a right-to-work state is to elect Ken Cuccinelli.”

Following the announcement, Snyder tweeted: “Honored to join @KenCuccinelli 's team as Finance Co-Chair. Ken is only cand w a real plan to grow VA's econ.”  

Snyder was the runner-up to E.W. Jackson for the lieutenant governor nomination at the Virginia Republican Party’s convention in May. During his pre-convention campaign, Snyder raised nearly $1 million.

In a release from the Cuccinelli camp, the gubernatorial hopeful called Snyder “one of the best fundraisers” in the GOP.

“It’s rare in this business to find people who are real team players,” Cuccinelli said.

Snyder lives in Fairfax County with his wife.
