Weekend Planner: ABBA, Outdoor Film Fest and More

  • Why Go: "Join Al A Carte Catering of Haymarket for an interactive dining experience with our own Chef, Mark Flanagan and Bill and Holly Martin, owners of Martin's Angus Farm in The Plains, as they walk you through a six-course dinner. Chef Flanagan has designed a beautiful and whimsical menu creatively highlighting Martin's local grass-fed, grain-finished, 30-day dry, aged Black Angus Beef, along with produce and herbs just picked from The Farm at Broad Run."
  • Pricing: Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased online.

  • When/Where: Drop by 1313 Old Chain Bridge Rd, McLean, anytime between 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday.
  • Why Go: According to the Bistro, "We offer an informal atmosphere where we don't start or end your tasting experience at a specific time, you decide on the time!" Sounds like a nice way to unwind!
  • Pricing: Wine tasting is free. Other menu items vary.

3. ABBA—The Concert

  • When/Where: The performance starts at 8 p.m. Sunday at 's Filene Center, 1645 Trap Road, Vienna.
  • Why Go: Calling at Dancing Queens! According to Wolf Trap's website, "ABBA—The Concert pays true homage to the 1970s Swedish pop group by emphasizing authenticity with stimulating live performances and ’70s attire."
  • Pricing: Tickets range in price from $25 to $38.

  • When/Where: The movie starts at dusk at the , near the Key Bridge, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington.
  • Why Go: This week's political-themed film is "Man of the Year," starring Robin Williams, Lewis Black, Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Should be good for a few laughs!
  • Pricing: Free to attend. Don't forget to bring your own popcorn and blankets!
