This Friday, please come out and support our efforts to raise money for the treatment of our friend, Mia.
Mia was born in Australia, and came to the United States in the mid-1980's, where she has lived and worked ever since. She is a living encyclopedia of American history, and she lives her passion for the subject by collecting and restoring classical and antique Americana from all eras. She has traveled the full length and breadth of the nation, working as a living historian wherever she goes. From Western Ghost Towns in Arizona to colonial Spanish forts in Florida, Mia's incredible knowledge and passion for history is shared through firsthand experience with everyone who meets her. It is not an exaggeration to say that she has single-handedly saved more American history over the past three decades than many Americans will ever learn. She is known by all who've met her as one of the most outgoing and wonderful people you could hope to meet.
Tragically, Mia has developed an aggressive cancer that spread quickly through her body and rendered her completely unable to work. As so much of her vocation is volunteer work, dealing in historical preservation, and education, she was not covered by a medical plan; and her cancer treatments have taken a tremendous physical, emotional, and financial toll. Mia is currently receiving treatments from a teaching hospital in Florida, but the prospects for financial assistance beyond her first round of chemotherapy are not good. Your help would go directly to Mia and her husband Scott to be used to pay her medical bills and ensure her treatments can continue until her cancer is gone.
