'Gershwin in Paris' feat. Eric Himy, Solo Piano

Eric Himy, whose playing is described by The New York Times as “flawlessly poised, elegant and brilliant”, explores Paris, the City of Light, through works by some of the piano literature’s most prominent composers. Himy’s original, solo piano arrangement of Gershwin’s famous ‘An American in Paris’ opens the program and leads into the impressionistic works of Debussy, and the romantic works of Chopin both of whom called Paris home. The program closes with Liebesträume and Rhapsodie Hongroise no. 2 by the legendary piano virtuoso and Parisian resident in the 1830s, Franz Liszt.
