Free Book Appraisal and
Talk to AAUW McLean Branch by Antiques Roadshow Appraiser Allan Stypeck,
President, Second Story Books, Inc. and Co-Host for 12 Years of National Public
Radio's "The Book Guys."





Members of the
community interested in having expert appraiser Allan Stypeck examine and
value one of their books are invited to bring the book to
the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue, McLean, on Sunday,
September 29 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.  Mr. Stypeck will appraise books as
part of his talk to AAUW's McLean Area Branch in celebration of the branch's
annual used book sale. The title of Mr. Stypeck's talk is: "The Future of
Books, New and Used."

After his talk, Mr.
Stypeck will remain at the Community Center to appraise one book per person
until all books have been examined.

USA Today rates Second Story Books "One of 10 Best
Used Bookstores in the U.S."  Mr. Stypeck is a Senior Member of the
American Society of Appraisers, a noted lecturer on book collecting, and
appraiser for the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution, United States
Department of State, National Archives, White House, museums, and universities.
 Mr. Stypeck has also appraised the archives of many noted individuals
including Henry Kissinger, Robert McNamara, Caspar Weinberger, Zbigniew
Brezinski, Daniel Moynihan, and Wyoming Governor Nellie Tayloe Ross, the first
woman governor.  Refreshments will be served.
