About the
instructor: Lauren Anderson was first drawn to yoga after discovering its healing
ability for anxiety and depression, which she has experienced after undergoing
a major life trauma.  Lauren believes that, through movement and

breathing, you can connect with your true feeling self, something more intuitive and loving than the thinking self.  Continuously
coming back to her mat to connect with her true self, Lauren has experienced more acceptance, peace and joy
in her life.

Lauren’s hope in teaching is to cultivate a space
for her students of all ages to tap into the natural energy and light inside of
them, while showing them that non-judgmental awareness and breath can move you
through any physical, mental and emotional pain.  Lauren teaches all levels
of Vinyasa and in these classes she aims to show students how dynamic flow and
movement - especially paired with adequate cool-down and relaxation - can bring
a new awareness to the creativity, joy and love that is sometimes stuck within
you. Sometimes you only need to get moving to release some of it!

Lauren is so excited to also share the benefits of yoga and breathing to young yogis - teens and children! She utilizes the skills learned in Kripalu's Yoga in the Schools Teacher Training program to connect with teens and children on their level and offer age-appropriate tools to manage their emotions and stress levels.

Knowing that many students come to their mat to
heal, Lauren utilizes the concepts of her training in LifeForce Yoga, yoga to
manage the mood, to meet her students where they are - mentally, physically and
emotionally. Use of movement, breath, sound, mudras, relaxation and
guided imagery helps students move from the anxious or depressed state to a
more peaceful space beneath

the current mood.
