Salona Village Assault on English Ivy

Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, Virginia Native Plant Society and Neighbors of Salona Park are joining hands to remove the English Ivy and other invasive plant species choking and killing beautiful trees along this border strip that connects to historic Salona Park.

Training will be provided. . .Take this knowledge home to protect your trees and landscaping investments and protect nearby forest from the "dead zones" proliferating from ivy spread via tree top seeds.

Protective gear is essential due to invasive vines, poison ivy & other risks. Wear long sleeves and work boots and bring loppers pruners, work gloves, hats & water.  Snacks provided. Adult supervision required for youth participants.

Followup Event continues at Salona Meadows (Buchanan St on the other side of Salona Park) from 1-4 pm. . .  Sign up at Meetup.com/Northern Virginia Conservation Trust for notice of continuing Salona Meadow workdays.
