Speidel Goodrich Goggin (SGG) & The Michael Clem Trio @ Gypsy Sally's

Speidel Goodrich Goggin (SGG) return to the DC area Friday May 9th at Gypsy Sally's in Georgetown. Opening will be The Michael Clem Trio featuring Eddie from Ohio bassist/songwriter Michael Clem.

No group captured the acoustic music scene in the Mid-Atlantic quite like SGG did in the 1980's. Formed at the University of Virginia in 1983, SGG grew into one of the most in-demand vocal groups in the area, continually packing The Bayou, Birchmere and The Barns at Wolf Trap. Now kicking off their 31st year together, SGG attracts followers from multiple generations.

"Wholesome, earnest, likable, handsome and exceedingly popular" - The Washington Post

20+ year veteran bassist & songwriter for Eddie from Ohio, Michael Clem brings his Charlottesville-based Trio to Gypsy Sally's. Clem (guitar, mandola, harp, vocals) shares the stage with Rusty Speidel (SGG) on guitar and higher vocals, and Thomas Gunn (Lost Highway) on upright bass and lonesomer vocals.

"A songwriter, a guitarist and observational comedian...Think Blink-182 with words by Todd Snider and you get an idea of what Clem does within the confines of folk-rock." - The Washington Post
