Tribute to Dad

When I think of my dad, I think: dependable, trustworthy, smart, strong, loving, hardworking and, let’s not forget, master of the remote control (with the volume turned up very loud, especially when watching Westerns and Fox News).

At 81, he is well versed on many topics, including business, politics, history, world events and so much more. Not one day goes by that he doesn’t read the newspaper and complete his word puzzles. He loves to cook special family meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He even has a part-time job.

As we celebrate Father’s Day this year, I’m reminded that I look up to my dad simply for who he is. He wisely advises me when I’m troubled with a decision and lovingly supports me when I need comfort or just a listening ear.

The man I call my dad, became my dad when I was ten. He has taught me that love is stronger than blood. He is and always will be my dad, and I’m his daughter.

Hasta la próxima,
Jackie
