Welcome to Extreme Close Up

Extreme close up — those words can strike fear into actors and television personalities worldwide. And truthfully, for any of us, being on the other end of an extreme close up can be a little uncomfortable. But a close up can give you a new perspective, show you a detail you hadn’t noticed before, and provide the in-depth review that allows a breakthrough! At ECU, extreme close ups are what we do — observing, questioning, discovering.

I’m Jackie Krick, the President and Founder of ECU Communications. Since 2004, ECU has been transforming ideas into communication materials that engage, captivate, and motivate. We love examining an issue from every possible angle to find the most promising solution for our clients. And although I started out on my own, ECU has grown into a group of professionals who excel at what they do and who have been instrumental in ECU’s success. As a team, we push each other to go beyond our comfort zones. They even convinced me to start this blog.

That’s where you come in. I value input and collaboration and enjoy meeting people and making connections. I hope Extreme Close Up will serve as a catalyst in allowing me to do that on a larger scale. I welcome your comments and questions. And I won’t be blogging alone. I have engaged other members of the ECU team to contribute posts on subjects in their areas of expertise or personal interest. We’ll cover a broad range of topics from industry best practices, corporate and social responsibility, and those who inspire us to book reviews, communications trivia, our favorite quotes, and beyond. Whatever the subject, one thing won’t change: We’ll always zoom in for an Extreme Close Up!
