Share of McLean Computer Drive

On Saturday, June 2nd from 10am to 1:30pm at the McLean Baptist Church (1367 Chain Bridge Road), Share of McLean will be holding a computer drive.

If you have unused computers or peripherals (working or broken), Share of McLean will take them and provide you with a tax receipt!

Share is a charity in McLean which aids families struggling financially in our local community. Through
numerous programs which provide food, clothing, computers, financial assistance, and more, Share helps over 300 families each year. Share’s computer program relies on donations of computers from the local community, which are refurbished and distributed to Share’s families.

Share's computer program refurbishes computers and distributes them to clients whom would otherwise be unable to afford the technology. The recent influx in computer requests by Share’s families has created shortages in our inventory, and donations are needed to help support Share's program.

We accept the following donations:

  • LCD monitors (no CRTs, please)
  • CD/DVD (optical) drives
  • Cables (VGA, ethernet, power, etc.)

  • Operating system and Microsoft Office installation or restore disks
  • Hard drives (60gb or larger)

All hard drives we receive are thoroughly erased and formatted in such a way that no data can be recovered. If you are concerned about recoverable data on your hard drive, we can format it on the spot for you at the site of the computer drive.

Signs will direct you to the location of the computer drive, to be held in the front (main) parking lot of the McLean Baptist Church. All donations are tax-deductible.

If you have any questions about the computer drive, you can email us at Share@the30seconds.com. Thank you for your generosity!
