Family friendly! The Washington Post Express calls this "the coolest New Year's Eve event" for families in the Metro area. The night is filled with music, dancing, a karaoke stage, face painters, balloon artists, and the traditional “countdown spectacular.” Runs Saturday, Dec. 31 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Free! Shuttle Bus runs every 30 minutes from East Falls Church Metro Station to all venues.
If you can't drive home after partying New Year's Eve, please call 1-800-200-TAXI and a taxicab will take you home for free. The program, sponsored by SoberRide, started Dec. 16 and operates daily from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each evening up to and including New Year's Eve.

The Dominican Retreat is offering a New Year’s Overnight for anyone seeking spiritual renewal and prayer in a community of faith. The New Year’s celebration begins with a festive dinner, followed by a Conference, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Visitors may also celebrate Holy Eucharist on Jan. 1, the feast of the Mother of God, and close with breakfast. A $125 offering is requested, with a $50 deposit upon reservation.
