Merry Christmas From Patch!

From our family to yours, warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season.

If you grew up in the late 1960s and '70s, then you may remember the Yule Log.

Video of the roaring fire in the fireplace would begin airing on Christmas Eve and stay on right through Christmas Day.

"The concept of the televised Yule Log is a tradition that originally began in 1966 by New York City's own WPIX-TV," according to theyulelog.com.

The site continues: "That famous and glorious 7-minute film loop of that roaring, happy, mesmerizing fire inside that festively decorated mantel piece complemented by the majesty of some of the greatest classic Christmas music ever recorded is indeed the one and only WPIX Yule Log. It has often been imitated, but never duplicated."

We thought it would be fun to revive this fond memory for so many of us.
