Join the solar conversation!

Virginians who want to "go solar" now have a new source for information.

Solar energy is the fastest-growing electricity source in America today, and the price of solar panels has dropped at an astounding rate in recent years. Virginians who have been waiting for the right time to take the plunge may find the time has come. What’s more, a new resource launched this fall will help them do it.

VA SUN is a citizens’ network of solar supporters in Virginia. It is a community listserve open to any individual or business interested in supporting solar in the state. The listserve is a place for practical advice on how to go solar, as well as to keep track of local developments around solar.

Similar listserves in Maryland and DC have helped residents, businesses, and churches learn about everything from siting considerations to financing to finding the right installer. Although VA SUN just started a few weeks ago, the top solar experts in Virginia are already on board and answering questions.

Find out what's happening in McLeanwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Those interested can click here to sign up for the listserve, or to receive periodic updates about solar in Virginia.
