A mild winter is leading to a record breaking year for parasites. Protect your dog ticks an other creepy crawlies!

In our area, there's no stopping them; ticks are always around, and often in large numbers. Tick prevention is important for your dog all year, but even more so once the temperature starts to rise. Spa Days

Sometimes simple prevention is the key. A regular bath with dog shampoo and warm water is a great defense against any critter clinging to your pet's coat. When your dog is wet, give her a nice massage, and you'll be able to find any ticks that may have attached far easier than when she is dry. Take advantage of self-serve bathing areas, or schedule a bath with your dog's next day of daycare!

Tidy Up

What dog doesn't love an afternoon spent sunbathing on the lawn during the summer? Make sure your lawn is safe for lounging by cleaning up piles of wood and debris, where ticks may be lurking.

Cut down any tall grass or weeds while you're at it. High grass that brushes against your dog's entire body means more chances for the ticks to grab hold.  Taller grass also creates a breeding ground for many types of ticks, insects, and pests.

A pest free dog is a happy dog!
