Community Update

My wife and I have been members at MRHC for almost 6 years. We have thoroughly enjoyed our membership--I highly recommend the club to any prospective members.

My primary exercise activity is cycling. I have been attending the Serious Cycling classes for many years. The classes are fun and provide outstanding aerobic exercise. Additionally, for the truly serious cyclists, the classes are great preparation for riding outdoors. During my first year of membership, I signed up for the Seagull Century bike ride on the Eastern Shore, and have done the ride with the Club every year since--the weekend trip to the Eastern Shore surrounding the Seagull has been a highlight of every year for me.

To me the real value of the Club comes from the myriad activities that the Club sponsors and the friendships that follow. I have enjoyed many outdoor cycling trips (near home and further afield), hiking excursions, kayaking, winter shopping-mall-walks, monument walks, bowling, a ski trip, a baseball game, Wolf-trap evenings, socials, wine tastings and a weekend getaway at St Michaels. Through these activities and the cycling, I count many Club members as good friends.

Though I focus primarily on cycling, I also use the weight room, attend occasional yoga classes with my wife and I have enjoyed the tennis courts. My wife and I usually give each other at Christmas certificates for a massage--the MHRC massage therapists are top-notch!
