Making Your FOIA Life Easier

A records-management and FOIA seminar for government employees AND interested citizens

Are you a government employee who has to manage government records or fill FOIA requests? Do you often feel like you’ve got so many records to keep track of and organize that finding them just to fill a FOIA request feels like climbing Mt. Everest?

You need a break!

The Virginia Coalition for Open Government is holding the fourth in a series of workshops for government employees called “Making Your FOIA Life Easier,” the aim of which is to offer tips and strategies for better records management. The better your records are maintained, the easier FOIA requests are to respond to.

Citizens are welcome to: you might learn a bit more about what your government employees have to do in order to respond to what seems like a simple request for records.

Thursday, May 3, at the Library of Virginia in Richmond (800 E. Broad St.), from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
