Comstock: yes NRA, no law enforcement

This week Barbara Comstock (R-34) voted to force law enforcement in McLean, Great Falls, Sterling, and other local jurisdictions to approve applications for weapons such as machine guns, bazookas, and RPGs when she voted for HB 878. This bill would remove the discretion local law enforcement has in evaluating purchases of bazookas, machine guns, rocket propelled grenades and other class 3 firearms in the ATF approval procedure.                                The definition of "firearm" in this bill includes machine guns, rifles and shotguns of a certain length, weapons made from certain rifles or shotguns, silencers, and destructive devices.  When Delegate Comstock voted ‘Aye’ on this bill she voted to allow those weapons and “destructive devices”(grenades, rockets, missiles, and mines)  in our neighborhoods even though both the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Sheriff’s Association spoke against the bill in committee.    Isn’t it time for Delegate Comstock to vote for the safety of her constituents and not for the profits of weapons makers and their mouthpiece, the NRA?
