The McLean Ear: TV Appearances by Colin Powell, Barbara Comstock, Real Housewives Reunion

Former Secretary of State and McLean resident Colin Powell is having a whirlwind week. Sunday he was in Parade magazine talking about the importance of kindness.

Tuesday morning he appeared on the TODAY show, interviewed by Matt Lauer. His new book went on sale Tuesday morning.

Then Sunday evening, the retired four-star general makes his annual appearance at the National Memorial Day Concert at the U. S. Capitol.

Note to Neighbors: Powell signs his book in the downtown McLean Books-a-Million store May 31. The bookstore started giving out tickets yesterday morning. 

A Second McLean TV Star. McLean resident Virginia Del. Barbara Comstock, (R-McLean, Great Falls, Loudoun)  was also on national TV Tuesday morning.

Comstock appeared on CNN's morning show with Soledad O'Brien. She is a surrogate for presumptive GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and the co-chair of his Virginia campaign.

CNN said of the appearance:Romney advisor won't answer if Bain is fair game or not .

Real Housewife of D.C Reunion. Two of the Real Housewives of D.C. are McLean residents, therefore we read with rapt interest of their recent reunion  as reported in The Washington Post.

The Post reported that four of the five housewives gathered with the "Bravo network executive behind the "Real Housewives" franchise who was at Bethesda Row’s three-day fashion event last week.

Hanging out with Andy Cohen was  McLean resident Lynda Erkiletian, former McLean resident Mary Amons and Catherine Ommanney and Stacie Turner.
