Update on 6/18/14 Homicide InvestigationAlcohol Enforcement
CHECKPOINT, Rt. 28/Old Mill Road, 6/14/14. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Five-hundred-thirty-six vehicles passed through. Eight drivers were charged with DWI.
DIRECTED PATROL, 6/15/14. Officers from the Reston Police District patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. One driver was charged with DWI. Ten summonses and seven warnings were issued.

BURGLARY, 14000 block of Winding Ridge Lane, 6/18/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

BURGLARY, 8000 block of Pantano Place, 6/13/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

ASSAULT, 3900 block of Melvern Place, 6/17/14, 10:15 p.m. Police responded to a fight between two men inside a private residence. A 28-year-old man was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Joel Palacios Vasquez, 44, of the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding.

BURGLARY, 9400 block of Myra Drive, 6/13/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
ROBBERY, 2500 block of John Eppes Road, 6/14/14, 9:25 p.m. The victim had delivered some food and was sitting in his car when the first suspect approached him. The first suspect implied he had a gun and demanded money. The victim resisted and two more suspects approached and assaulted the victim. The victim continued resisting and all three suspects fled on foot. The victim did not require rescue. The first suspect was described as a black male, 24-27, about 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with bald head. The second suspect was described as a black male, 20-24, about 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall with black hair. The third suspect was described as a black male.
