Fairfax County Police Release McLean Bank Robbery Suspect Photos

A Capital One branch in McLean was robbed Monday.

Fairfax County Police released pictures Tuesday afternoon of a suspect wanted in connection with the robbery of a downtown McLean Bank, Monday morning.

The police are investigating the robbery of the Capital One Bank at 6890 Elm St. which occurred around 9:30 a.m.

Police said an armed man entered the bank and demanded money from a bank employee. The clerk complied and the man fled, police said.

The suspect was last seen heading toward an office building across the street from the bank, police said. The bank is located at the southeast corner of  Dolly Madison Boulevard and Elm Street.

The suspect wore a ski mask and gloves, a fisherman’s hat, a three-quarter length khaki-colored trench coat, and dress pants, police said.

The corporate headquarters of Capital One Bank is located about a mile away on Dolley Madison Boulevard just east of Tysons Corner.         

Capital One did not respond to inquiries as to whether any corporate officials had talked to staff at bank who were upset by the robbery.
