Fairfax Detectives Ask for Public's Help in Catching Tysons Corner Bank Robbers

The pair of bandits robbed the Bank of Georgetown in the Tysons Corner area of McLean last week.

Fairfax County detectives on Monday released three video stills taken from security footage at a Tysons Corner bank that was robbed last week.

A pair of masked men — one with a gun, one with a bag — robbed the Bank of Georgetown at 1850 Towers Crescent Plaza in McLean on Wednesday afternoon and remain on the loose.

One of the video stills released Monday shows one of the men without a mask.

"They had masks, and obviously at some point they must've taken them off. I don't know what specifically the timing is," police spokesman Don Gotthardt told Patch.

Police have not said how much money was stolen. No one was injured during the heist.

The man with the gun was described as wearing a dark colored jacket and a black baseball cap. The man with the bag was said to be wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Both appeared to be in their 40s, according to police.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of these men.

The FBI and Fairfax County police are investigating the matter. They are asking anyone with information to call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or the local police at 703-691-2131.
