Original Story: Georgetown Pike a major commuter route is closed from about Swinks Mill board to Spring Hill following a two-car accident at Georgetown Pike and Potomac River Road about 3:30, according to Fairfax County police.
Fairfax County fire officials said they transported one of the drivers to the hospital with non-threatening injuries. The accident occurred in the southbound lanes, but Georgetown is a two-lane road.

A tow truck has been called and police hope that Georgetown Pike wil reopen before 5p.m.
This is the second time in a month that an accident in this location has snalred rush hours traffic.

Georgetown Pike which runs from Route 123 north to Route 7 nearly into Loudoun County is a major commuter route although it is only two-lanes. This road, a Virginia scenic highway, handles thousands of cars daily.
