Great Falls House Fire: $100,000 Damage

The home was under renovation and three construction workers were on-site.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Thursday, Feb. 6, at approximately 6:15 p.m., in the Great Falls area of Fairfax County. The single family home is located at in the 9000 block of Seneca Road.

Firefighters encountered smoke and fire from the roof upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. 

The home is currently under renovation. The three construction workers self-evacuated prior to the arrival of the firefighters. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. The cause of the fire was a combustible material too close to a heat source.
