VIDEO: Meet the 'Top Cop' of FCPD's New Tysons Urban Team

Officers will patrol Tysons area in pairs by car, foot, bicycle and rail.

In this video provided by the Fairfax County Police Department, FCPD Second Lt. Chuck Riddle discusses how officers with the Fairfax County Police will meet challenges as Tysons continues to grow into an urban center.

They'll be looking to deal with crime as the area's population and traffic increase. They'll work with Metro Transit Police on the Silver Line.

Riddle said police will likely use a new "buddy" system with two officers patrolling together so police won't have to wait for backup. The public will benefit by having two police on the scene quicker and while one is driving, another can be on the lookout for activity and operate a computer when needed.

Riddle, on the force for 18 years, will be the supervisor of the Tysons urban team or TUT.
