Old Dominion Drive Reopened Near Swinks Mill Road

3:30 pm. McLean neighbor John King reports that Old Dominion Drive has reopened.

ORIGINAL STORY: Old Dominion Drive near Swinks Mill Road has been closed since about 11 am. Sunday after a tree fell across it taking down lines belonging to Verizon, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

A McLean neighbor John King reported to McLean Patch that the tree fell at Old Cedar Road opposite The Reserve. King sent the pictures accompanying this story.

Police said the Virginia Department of Transportation needed to remove the tree and Verizon needed to repair its line.

It is unknown when this part of Old Dominion Road generally from Swinks Mill to Spring Hill Road will reopen to traffic.
