Lonczak's mother posted that same information on Patch on Aug. 28.

The cause and manner of the girl's death has not yet been determined by the medical examiner. Detectives are looking into whether illegal narcotics "may be a factor" in the ongoing investigation, the news release states.

Lonczak would have started her junior year at McLean High School this week. WUSA9's Peggy Fox posted a picture on Twitter of a large rock that McLean students decorated with Lonczak's favorite colors and adorned with flowers. (See above.)

A childhood friend posted on Tumblr that Lonczak "was always smiling and was beautiful on both the inside and outside" along with a picture of their Girl Scout troop at the Bronx Zoo.

Lonczak is survived by six siblings, including a twin, along with her parents, grandparents and other family members, according to her obituary.
