Woman Rescued from Potomac River

An adult female has been transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department retrieved an adult female from the Potomac River just after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The woman fell about 15 feet into the water near the intersection of 9200 Old Dominion Dr. and Georgetown Pike in McLean.

Fire and Rescue Department Spokesman Dan Schmidt said the woman was rescued by boat, was conscious and has been transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
