A Glittering GOP Fundraiser for Barbara Comstock

VA gov. leads list of well-known Republicans

Del. Barbara Comstock, R-34th, who is running for reelection to the Virginia House of Delegates, threw a gold-plated fundraiser Sept. 27 in Langley with Gov. Bob McDonnell as the star attraction, as well as present and former elected GOP officials and a wide swath of technology and business executives.

Bobbie Kilberg, president and CEO of the Northern Virginia Tech Council, hosted the fundraiser at her elegant home. Comstock barred coverage of the fundraiser. She later posted pictures on her Facebook page.

Comstock is running for a second term. She faces Democratic challenger Pamela Danner in the Nov. 8 election.

She’s held a number of fundraisers with big-name Republicans in recent weeks as she amasses her war chest, including Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Ticket prices for the Sept. 27 event ranged from $250 to $5,000.
