Attendance Up At Remodelled, Reopened, Regal McLean Library

You can bring your coffee

No surprise the neighbors are keeping the librarians are McLean's stunning new library busy.

Attendance is up 21 percent if you count the nearly 2,000 folks who came to the grand reopening of the remodelled and greatly expanded Dolley Madison Library just off Ingleside Ave. If you subtract those folks, attendance is still up four percent for the first week, library officials said.

The $8 million renovationgave McLean a library with a back wall of 16 foot tall floor to ceiling windows overlooking McLean Central Park. The library that feels like a country retreat opened July 9 to rave reviews.

The library has also become a cool retreat in these oven-like temperatures. It features 24 public computers. Comfortable desks made for books or laptops. Great Wi-Fi service. Chairs with desks and cup holders. Yes you can just bring your coffee (covered please) and just nestle in.
