Beltway Closings Up to 30 Minutes Overnight in Tysons Corner

TEMPORARY TOTAL CLOSURES throughout the week of up to 30 minutes overnight on I-495 north and south from Old Dominion Drive to Lee Highway overpass and at Little River Turnpike, on I-495 north at Gallows Road, on I-66 east and west from Route 7 to Nutley Street, on Chain Bridge Road north and south at I-495 and on Lee Highway north at I-495.

EXTENDED DAYTIME CLOSURE HOURS on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., a single right lane of I-495 south at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) will close for sound wall work.

 Bridge Construction Continues over Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road at Leesburg Pike (Route 7); Multiple Overnight Closures and Detours Required
 
Weather permitting, these closures will be in place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Wednesday.
 
Overnight thru traffic along both directions of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) still will be open, but left turns on to Westpark or Gosnell will not be allowed. For safety reasons, thru traffic on Westpark/Gosnell will be prohibited, and will be detoured by using Route 7 as follows:

Southbound Westpark Drive thru traffic and motorists wanting to turn left on to eastbound Leesburg Pike will need to turn right on to westbound Leesburg Pike, then U-turn at either Spring Hill Road or Tyco Road, and continue on eastbound Leesburg Pike toward Gosnell Road.

Northbound Gosnell Road thru traffic and motorists wanting to turn left on to westbound Leesburg Pike will need to turn right on to eastbound Leesburg Pike, pass under Route 123, turn left on International Drive, left on Chain Bridge Road (Route 123), then take the exit ramp to Route 7 to turn right on Westpark Drive.

Utility Work, Station Construction to Cause Overnight Closures at Spring Hill Road/Route 7 Intersection
 
Construction of the future Tysons West Station in the median of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) between Spring Hill Road and Tyco Road/Westwood Center Drive is ramping up. Overnight crews will be performing overhead bridge work in and near the station, which will require the closure of part of the intersection.
 
In addition, crews will continue the installation of a major water main at the same intersection. Motorists will be directed to detour using alternate cross streets along Route 7. Police will be onsite for motorist safety during the overnight hours.
