Beltway, Dulles Toll Road Closings Continue Overnight in Tysons Corner, 30 Minute Delays

I-495 north at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) -  Intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight Tuesday to Thursday nights for steel beam erection. In addition, three left lanes will be closed Thursday night for overhead sign work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Overnight Lane and Ramp Closures on the I-495 Capital Beltway Continue
 
Crews will continue the bridge construction over I-495 at the Route 123 intersection this week, weather permitting. Multiple lanes in either direction of the beltway may be closed in the overnight hours, though thru traffic will be permitted. In some case, a ramp may be closed when work is scheduled over that ramp. Specific lane closures and detour information will be announced daily, and should be expected through the end of the year.

I-495 south from Old Dominion Drive overpass to Exit 46, Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) - Three right lanes closed Tuesday through Friday nights for striping and bridge work.

Bridge Construction Continues over Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road at Leesburg Pike (Route 7); Multiple Overnight Closures and Detours Required
 
Weather permitting, these closures will be in place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday of next week, and Friday night from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Overnight thru traffic along both directions of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) still will be open, but left turns on to Westpark or Gosnell will not be allowed. For safety reasons, thru traffic on Westpark/Gosnell will be prohibited, and will be detoured by using Route 7 as follows:

Southbound Westpark Drive thru traffic and motorists wanting to turn left on to eastbound Leesburg Pike will need to turn right on to westbound Leesburg Pike, then U-turn at either Spring Hill Road or Tyco Road, and continue on eastbound Leesburg Pike toward Gosnell Road.

Northbound Gosnell Road thru traffic and motorists wanting to turn left on to westbound Leesburg Pike will need to turn right on to eastbound Leesburg Pike, pass under Route 123, turn left on International Drive, left on Chain Bridge Road (Route 123), then take the exit ramp to Route 7 to turn right on Westpark Drive.

Eastbound Tysons Boulevard to Close

The eastbound lanes of Tysons Boulevard will be closed between Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) and Galleria Drive Wednesday through Friday nights, Nov. 30 through Dec. 2, for overhead bridge, pier and station work near the future Tysons Central 123 station.
 
This also will require the closures of the turn lanes on to eastbound Tysons Boulevard from northbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123), and northbound and southbound Galleria Drive. Generally, these lane closures will begin to be implemented at 9:30 each night, and will be lifted between 5 a.m. each following morning.
 
Detours around this closure will be in place. Please use extreme caution, pay attention to signage, and obey police direction if traveling around this intersection.
 
Paving along Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) near I-66/West Falls Church
 
Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are scheduled to perform pavement restoration along the eastbound Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) between the Magarity Road and Idylwood Road bridges during the overnight hours Monday through Thursday of next week.
 
The left thru lane of the eastbound Connector Road will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. on those nights.
 
Noise warning: Every effort will be made to minimize the noise associated with this work. However, paving is an extremely dangerous activity and will require the full use of backup alarms to ensure workers' safety.
 
Ramp from Northbound Route 123 to the Eastbound Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) to Close for Paving Tuesday through Thursday Nights
 
The on-ramp from northbound Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) to the eastbound Dulles Connector Road (Route 267/to I-66 East) is scheduled to close Monday, Nov. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 1 for paving activity. This ramp will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. each night.
 
Traffic will be detoured by turning right on Anderson Road, left on [Old] Chain Bridge Road, left on Great Falls Street, then left on southbound Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) to access the eastbound Connector Road (Route 267).

Dulles International Airport Access Hwy. west at I-495 - Road closed Wednesday and Thursday nights for bridge overhang work. Traffic will be directed to the Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) west. Motorists will not be tolled.


Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) west at I-495 - Road closed  Tuesday night for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left, follow signs to I-495 south and take Exit 45A, Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) west.


Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) east at I-495 - Single lane closed  Tuesday night for bridge overhang work. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 south to Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east


Safety Alert: Flaggers on Hunter Mill Road, Trap Road, Magarity Road
 
Flagging operations will be controlling thru traffic on the following roads from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 - Thursday, Dec. 1, and 9:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 2:

Trap Road at the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267)
Hunter Mill Road at the Dulles Toll Road
