Fairfax County has announced the following schedule for Columbus Day, which is Monday, Oct. 14.
All county government offices, including the elections office, will be closed.
All courts will be closed.
All public schools and school offices will be closed.
Libraries will be closed.
The Fairfax Connector will operate on a holiday weekday schedule, except for Routes 335, 394, 395, 585, 595 and 597, which will not operate.
Fastran will not be in service.
RECenters will operate on regular schedule.
Nature centers and Riverbend Park's visitors center will be open noon to 5 p.m.; historic sites will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Frying Pan Farm Park will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the visitor center open 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; Green Spring Gardens will be open noon to 4:30 p.m. and the historic house closed.
Teen centers and senior centers will be closed.
The McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will be closed.
Trash and recycling collection will operate on a regular schedule.
Recycling and disposal facilities at the Interstate 66 transfer station and the Interstate 95 landfill complex will be open.
