Here are the highlights of the June board meeting of the McLean Community Center:

1. Craig Richardson won a second term as board secretary. The  11-member board elected its other officers at its May meeting. The initial race between Richardson and Robin Walker, for the secretary's post, ended in a

Richardson said during the intervening month he and Walker talked and decided not to compete against each other. Walker dropped her candidacy.

“I appreciate her doing that,” Richardson said. He will serve a one-year term.

2. Robelito Taguding, Comptroller of the MCC, has resigned because of family needs. Board members praised his service.

Board Chair Kevin Dent said, “I really felt we had turned the corner" on the MCC finances. "He will be sorely missed."

Vice-chair Chad Quinn said, "He was diligent and thoughtful and we are thankful for his service.”

 MCC Executive Director George Sachs said, “He had a passion for the arts.” He worked at the events, taking tickets and doing other jobs. He combined that with a passion for finances."

3. MCC has received permission from the county to establish blogs for the Teen Center and The Alden Theater.
