Spring Hill RECenter Expansion Groundbreaking Set for Sept. 21

The $10 million project is expected to transform the recreation center over the next 16 months.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and the county's Park Authority will hold a public groundbreaking ceremony for the Spring Hill RECenter expansion at 10 a.m. Sept. 21.

The construction project is expected to begin this month and be complete by January 2015. It includes adding a new gym with an elevated running track, plus a fitness center and renovations to existing locker rooms, restrooms and offices.

Fairfax County Supervisor John Foust and the Park Authority will hold a public meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Spring Hill Elementary School cafeteria to review the plans.
