Traffic Alert: Full Beltway, Dulles Road Closings Overnight Again This Week

This week's traffic traumas throughout McLean and Tysons Corner brought to you by the HOT Lanes and the Metro construction.

Interstate 495 south at Old Dominion Dr. overpass —Three lanes closed Tuesday night for overhead sign work. Expect intermittent, full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west at I-495 — Road closed Monday- Friday nights for bridge painting. Traffic will be directed to I-495 north to exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left, follow signs to I-495 south and take exit 45A, Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) west.

I-495 north and south from Leesburg Pike (Route 7) to Oak Street overpass up to W&OD Trail overpass — Three lanes closed Monday through Saturday nights for bridge work, paving and traffic shift. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east to Interstate 66 west — Ramp closed intermittently for up to 30 minutes after midnight Monday through Saturday nights for overhead sign installation and utility work.

I-495 south at I-66 — Road closed Thursday through Saturday nights for paving. Traffic will be directed to exit onto I-66 west to exit 62, Nutley Street, stay to the right, follow signs to I-66 east to I-495 south.

Temporary Road Shift of Eastbound Leesburg Pike (Route 7) Overnight Thursday and Friday
Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project construction will shift the eastbound thru lanes on Route 7, between Westwood Center Drive and 200 feet east of Spring Hill Road, to the left by approximately 30 feet beginning Thursday, April 12, and Friday, April 13.

There will be full road closures in 15-minute increments to facilitate this work. Police will be onsite for motorist safety.
 
Intersection of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Spring Hill Road to Close Overnights Thursday and Friday of Next Week
Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project construction will cause the closing of the intersection of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Spring Hill Road between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday, April 12, and 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday, April 13, for mill and overlay work in the intersection.
 
Thru traffic along both directions of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) will be allowed, but thru traffic on Spring Hill Road will not be allowed.

Construction on eastbound Route 267 will continue into late summer as crews complete work on the retaining walls and begin construction of a new shoulder area between the rail and road. Expect to see intermittent delays on this route due to daily lane closures and look for alternate routes if possible.
 
Capital One Entrance to Remain Closed at Night Next Weekend
The main entrance of the Capital One campus in McLean will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday, April 13, and Saturday, April 14, for utility work. To access the Capital One campus, use the alternate entrance via Scotts Crossing Road.
 
Pile Driving to Continue at Tysons Central 7 Station
Pile driving will continue at Tysons Central 7 Station, near Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road in Tysons throughout next week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and the occasional Saturday.  Noisy.
