Beltway, Dulles Toll Road Closings Continue Overnight in Tysons Corner

Intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes I-495 north and south at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) -  after midnight Monday and Tuesday nights for utility work.

Intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight I-495 north from Lee Hwy. (Route 29) overpass to Idylwood Rd. overpass – Four lanes of five closed Monday - Tuesday nights for bridge painting.

Dulles International Airport Access Hwy. west at I-495 - Road closed Monday and Tuesday nights for bridge overhang work. Traffic will be directed to the Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) west. Motorists will not be tolled.

Ramp at Route 7/Route 123 Interchange to Reopen by Thanksgiving

After being closed for more than a year because of Silver Line Construction, the ramp from westbound Leesburg Pike (Route 7) to southbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) is scheduled to reopen by Thanksgiving.
 
This ramp was closed in September 2010 to allow for construction of the west end of the tunnel that will connect the Tysons Central 123 and Central 7 stations.
 
Details of the opening will be announced as soon as the date is set.
 
Overnight Lane and Ramp Closures on the I-495 Capital Beltway Continue This Week
 
Rail project crews will continue the bridge construction over I-495 at the Route 123 intersection next week, weather permitting. Multiple lanes in either direction of the Beltway may be closed in the overnight hours, though thru traffic will be permitted. In some cases, a ramp may be closed when work is scheduled over that ramp. Specific lane closures and detour information will be announced daily, and are expected through the end of the year.
 
Safety Alert: Flaggers on Trap Road, Magarity Road
 
Drivers who use Magarity Road in the McLean/Falls Church area, and Trap Road in the Vienna area, should be aware that flaggers will control thru traffic on those roads during the daytime next week. Flaggers will be on those roads Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
 
The flaggers on Magarity Road will be stationed under the Dulles Connector Road overpass, while those on Trap Road will be stationed at the bridge over the Dulles Toll Road/Dulles International Airport Access Highway.
 
Please be alert and use extreme caution when using these roads.
 
Thanksgiving Day Holiday
 
There will be no lane closures from noon Wednesday, Nov. 23 through 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. In addition, no lane closures will be on the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) or the Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) from Tuesday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 27.

Other Distruptions

I-495 north at the George Washington Parkway - Right lane closed Monday night for barrier movement.

I-495 south to Exit 45B, Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) east - Ramp closed Monday and Tuesday nights for overhang removal. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east.
