Overnight: Up to 30 min Beltway Lane Closings, Disruptions for Traffic Crossing Route 7

Weekly compilation of traffic detours and headaches caused by the construction of the Silver Line and the HOT Lanes through Tysons Corner. Pack the patience.

I-495 north at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Three right lanes closed Monday - Thursday nights for box girder installation. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

I-495 north to Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south - Ramp closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to take Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north, make a right on Old Meadow Rd., left on Colshire Dr. and then follow signs to Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south.

Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north at Tysons Blvd. - Left turn lane closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.

Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south to I-495 north - Ramp closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue south, make a right onto International Dr. north, make a right onto Galleria Dr. east, right onto Tysons Blvd., left onto Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to I-495 north.

Bridge Construction along Median of Route 7 Continues to Close Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road Intersection Overnights Monday and Tuesday
 
Construction of the aerial guideway in the median of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) in Tysons Corner will continue between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday, Feb.6 and Tuesday, Feb. 7, resulting in the closures of the middle of the Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road intersection.
 
Thru traffic along both directions of Route 7 will not be affected, but thru traffic on Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road will not be permitted. Detour information is as follows:

Southbound Westpark Drive thru traffic and drivers wishing to turn left on to eastbound Route 7 will be directed to turn right on westbound Route 7, U-turn at Spring Hill Road to access both eastbound Route 7 and Gosnell Road;
Northbound Gosnell Road thru traffic and drivers wishing to turn left on to westbound Route 7 will be directed to turn right on eastbound Route 7, left on International Drive, left on Route 123, then exit to Route 7, to access both westbound Route 7 and Westpark Drive.

Two Ramps at I-495/Route 123 Interchange to Close Overnights
 
Overhead bridge construction at the I-495/Route 123 interchange will force the closures of two ramps overnights from Sunday, Feb. 5 through Friday, Feb. 10.
 
Ramp from Northbound I-495 to Southbound Route 123 - 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
 
Drivers will be detoured by exiting on to northbound I-495 instead, turning right on Old Meadow Road, left on Colshire Meadow Drive, left on Colshire Drive, then left on to southbound Route 123.
 
Ramp from Southbound Route 123 to Northbound I-495 - 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
 
To access northbound I-495, drivers will be detoured by continuing on southbound Route 123, turning right on International Drive, right on Galleria Drive, right on Tysons Boulevard, then left on to northbound Route 123, to the second right exit on to northbound I-495.
 
In addition, the right lane of southbound Route 123 also will be closed from Capital One Drive to the east side of I-495 on those nights from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. to support the overhead bridge and station construction.
 
Eastbound Tysons Boulevard to Close Monday through Friday Nights
 
The eastbound lanes of Tysons Boulevard will be closed between Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) and Galleria Drive Monday through Friday nights, Feb. 6-10, for overhead bridge, pier and station work near the future Tysons Central 123 station.
 
This also will require the closures of the turn lanes on to eastbound Tysons Boulevard from northbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123), and northbound and southbound Galleria Drive. Generally, these lane closures will begin to be implemented at 9:30 p.m. each night, and will be lifted between 5 a.m. each following morning.
 
Detours around this closure will be in place. Please use extreme caution, pay attention to signage, and obey police direction if traveling around this intersection.

I-495 south to Exit 49, I-66 west - Ramp closed Sunday - Saturday nights for traffic shifts. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 north and take Exit 49A, I-66 west.

I-66 west to I-495 south - Ramp closed Sunday - Saturday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue west to Exit 62, Nutley St. south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-66 east to I-495 south.

I-66 west from Exit 67, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) to Exit 64, I-495 - Two lanes closed Sunday - Saturday nights for utility work and traffic shift. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
