UPDATE: No Overnight Lane or Ramp Closures Tonight

Traffic Drama Due to Metro, Express Toll Lane Construction

UPDATE: All previously scheduled overnight road and ramp closures on the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project have been cancelled for tonight, Monday, March 26.
 
ORIGINAL STORY: Here's a list of this week's traffic challenges brought to you by the simultaneous construction of the new Mero Silver Line and the express toll (aka HOT) lanes through Tysons Corner and McLean.

495 south from Old Dominion Dr. overpass to Oak St. overpass - Three left lanes closed Wednesday - Saturday nights for lane shift, overhead sign and bridge work.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east at I-495 - Road closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left, follow signs to I-495 south and take Exit 45B, Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east to I-495 south - Ramp closed Monday night for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, stay to the left and follow signs to I-495 south. 

Temporary Road Shift of Eastbound Leesburg Pike (Route 7) near Route 123 Overnight Friday, March 30
 
Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project construction will shift the eastbound thru lanes of Route 7 between Marshalls Drive and Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) to the left by approximately 30 feet starting Friday, March 30 during the overnight hours as follows:
10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. - Left and center thru lanes closed between Marshalls Drive and Route 123.
1 a.m. to 7 a.m. - Right and center thru lanes closed in same area.
Please be aware that there will be full road closures in 15 minute increments to facilitate this work. Police will be onsite for motorist safety.
 
Intersection of Route 7 and Spring Hill Road to Close Overnights Monday through Friday
 
The intersection of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Spring Hill Road will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday, March 26 through Thursday, March 29, and 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday, March 30, for roadwork.
 
Thru traffic along both directions of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) will be allowed, but thru traffic on Spring Hill Road will not be allowed, and will be detoured by using Route 7 as follows:
Southbound Spring Hill Road thru traffic and motorists wanting to turn left on to eastbound Leesburg Pike will need to turn right on to westbound Leesburg Pike, then U-turn at Tyco Road/Westwood Center Drive, and continue on eastbound Leesburg Pike toward Spring Hill Road.
Northbound Spring Hill Road thru traffic and motorists wanting to turn left on to westbound Leesburg Pike will need to turn right on to eastbound Leesburg Pike, U-turn at Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road or International Drive, and continue on westbound Route 7 to access Spring Hill Road.
Ramp on to Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) from Leesburg Pike (Route 7) to Close Overnights
 
Aerial segment construction will cause the ramp onto eastbound Route 267 from eastbound Route 7 to close overnights next week. The ramp will be closed Monday, March 26, through Friday, March 30, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
 
Ramp detour: To access eastbound Route 267 from eastbound Route 7, drivers should continue on Route 7, then U-turn at Tyco Road on to westbound Route 7 to access eastbound Route 267.
 
Note: The ramp to westbound Route 267 will remain open.
 
Barrier Removal on Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) to Continue Overnights Next Week
 
Crews will be removing barriers on eastbound Route 267 for three nights next week, causing the right thru lane and bus lane to be closed at various points between the exit ramp to northbound Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) and the Idylwood Road Overpass. Barrier removal runs overnights from Monday, March 26 to Friday, March 30. Police will be onsite for motorist safety
 
Daytime Lane Closures on Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) to Continue into Late Summer
 
Construction activities on eastbound Route 267 will continue into late summer as crews complete work on the retaining walls and begin construction of a new shoulder area between the rail and road. Expect to see intermittent delays on this route due to daily lane closures and look for alternate routes if possible.
 
Capital One Entrance to Remain Closed at Night This Week
 
The main entrance of the Capital One campus in McLean will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, March 25, through Friday, March 30, for overhead station and bridge construction. To access the Capital One campus, use the alternate entrance via Scotts Crossing Road.
 
This entrance also will be closed over several weekends as crews continue work at that intersection.
