Basketball: Langley Falls to SLHS

Seahawks win fourth straight to hold on to Liberty District lead.

South Lakes High School's girls basketball team outscored Langley 18-9 in the fourth quarter to topple the Saxons 51-43 on their home court.

It was the fourth straight win for the Seahawks, who are ranked No. 17 by the Washington Post this week.

South Lakes sits atop the Liberty District with an 8-1 district (15-2 overall). The Saxons are now 8-9, 4-5 Liberty.

Langley was led by Kaelin Testa with 11 points and Jessica Stewart with 10.

It was South Lakes' second victory over Langley this season. The Seahawks won the December meeting 43-33 in Reston.

Next up: Langley hosts Fairfax on Friday.

Boys basketball: Langley completed a season sweep of South Lakes with a 46-37 victory on Tuesday. It was the fifth straight loss for the Seahawks, who fell to 6-11, 3-6 Liberty.
