Cooper Middle Presents Two Murder Mysteries

School's Theater Department presents 'Par for the Corpse,' 'The Bold, The Young and The Murdered' this week.

Cooper Middle School's Theater Department is presenting two murder mysteries this week.

"The Bold, The Young and The Murdered" is about a long-running soap opera in its last days, according to Lindsay Bovenzi, a journalism teacher at the school.

She continued: "Its hunky hero has self-esteem issues, its villainous old man is more interested in soup, and its heroines are slightly psychopathic. The executive producer gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum: Complete one episode overnight or the show dies. But when cast members and crew start dropping like flies, it seems like his threat might actually come true. Can these misfits discover the murderer before the show is literally killed off?"

She continued: "When Joy Draper of dating service Harmonosity takes a crew of singles to the resort, one of her clients turns up dead! As they begin to investigate, a second death occurs, but when the third murder happens, the scorecard of murders just doesn’t add up!  Could there be more than one murderer on the green?!"

"Par for the Corpse" shows at 2:40 p.m. Thursday and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets for each show are $5 for students or $10 adults and can be purchased at the door.

Cooper Middle School is at 977 Balls Hill Road, McLean.
