New! Social Media Smarts for Teens

From the course description:

"Online spaces provide unprecedented opportunities for teens to expand their social worlds and engage in public life—whether that is connecting with peers over Facebook or publishing videos on YouTube. But taking advantage of these social media outlets requires an understanding of social media etiquette and privacy issues that may be at play. A survey recently reported that 46 percent of youth admit to having given their personal information over the Internet to someone they didn’t know. This workshop will present important information so that teens can handle social media situations in healthy and effective ways as well as providing teens with guidelines to protect their privacy."

Instructor: Laura Mattis.
