No Excuses: McLean High Grad Has Perfect Attendance Throughout 13-Year School Career

"It's in me to show up," Catherine Overberg tells The Washington Post.

A McLean High School student has seemingly done the impossible: graduated high school with a perfect attendance record since the beginning of her education 13 years ago at Fairfax County Public Schools, The Washington Post reports.

Catherine Overberg recently was awarded the Cal Ripken attendance award by McLean High's Ellen Reilly; through the years she has skipped Senior Skip Day (in order to play in a big softball game).

“It’s in me to show up,” she said. “It’s what I’ve built my character on. I’m that friend you can rely on.”
