Send Your Student to College with Patch

The Patch Newsletter and smart phone apps are great ways for young scholars to keep up with news back home.

You've shopped for those extra-long twin bed sheets and you've given your college-bound scholar a laundry tutorial. You're fighting back tears before dropping them off at the dorm.

But before you say goodbye for good, there are one or two more things you can do to get your son or daughter ready for university life.

Sign your student up for the McLean Patch newsletter, and let them know about adding the Patch apps for iPhone and Android phones.

Did we mention it's all free? Your little collegian can keep up with local news, including the wide variety of events going on at and high schools.

As for us, we'd like to stay connected to some of our most loyal readers. If your student does something great at college (wins an award? goes to a foreign country? organizes a huge volunteer effort?) we want to hear about it! You can always e-mail editor bobbi.bowman@patch.com.
